About Us
While sitting in a movie theatre with friends, on August 3, 2000, I was suddenly drawn to a woman running down the isle, shaking her baby. She cried out "Travis" and stopped right on the end of our row. I called out
"is he choking?" As soon as I recieved her reply of yes, I jumped up,
grabbed her 12 to15 month old son, and proceeded to perform the Heimlich
maneuver. After 3 thrusts, the object,(a piece of ice) flew out, and he
began to cry.
After six years of stressing and promoting the importance of safety, I
actually had the opportunity to help someone. I felt completely blessed,
and assured that I was on the right track.
As an abuse survivor, who never spoke up, I now know that it's
important to empower our children to make safety decisions for
themselves.
With the help of my children, Leah , Rena & Ameerah, a host of talented
friends and contributors, and numerous safety agencies and
organizations, we have come up with something that will surely make a
difference.
